Berkeley Tenant Protections and Right to Organize
Our Ballot Measure:
Reduces the scope and abuse of exemptions to Berkeley's Tenant protection ordinance.
Expands ability of the city to enforce its rental registry program.
Ensures tenants are aware of their rights during eviction proceedings.
Protects the rights of tenants to form tenants associations and discuss issues with their landlords in good faith.

The Berkeley Rent Board spent over two years developing the improvements to this rent stabilization ordinance. It is now time to collect signatures and place it on the November 2024 ballot. On Saturday, a broad coalition in support of the tenant movement will be going door to door to collect signatures. If you are a Berkeley voter you can also come by and sign the petition.
